# Subscription

> How your subscription starts and renews, subscription statuses, and what happens if a payment fails.

## Start and Renewal

* Your subscription starts as soon as payment completes, and the start time is recorded down to the day, hour, and minute.
* It renews automatically every month at the same time it started. (e.g. starts Jan 23 at 11:35 AM → runs until Feb 22 at 11:34 AM)
* At renewal, unused subscription credits expire instead of rolling over, and new credits are issued.

## How It Works

| Item | Details |
| - | - |
| Monthly fee | The service fee. Billed automatically every month to the card you added. |
| Credits | The image generation fee. 300 credits are issued automatically every month while you're subscribed. |

## Subscription Status

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| FREE | You've signed up but haven't subscribed yet. You can use your sign-up credits for 7 days. |
| Active | Payment went through and you can use every feature. |
| Cancelling | You requested cancellation, and your subscription ends automatically when the current period ends. |
| No plan | You haven't started a subscription, or it has expired or been cancelled. |

* You can check your current status and next payment date in **Settings → Subscription**.

## Payment Failed

* If a recurring payment fails, your subscription is **cancelled right away**, with no automatic retry.
* Please check your card's expiry date, whether it allows international (USD) payments, and its limit in advance.
* To use ModoAI again, just start a new subscription. Your account and data stay as they are.
