# Credits

> Credit types, how credits are deducted, and how to top up.

## Credit Types

* 1 credit makes 1 image.
* You can see credits added and used in **Settings → Subscription**.

| Type | When you get them | Valid until |
| - | - | - |
| Subscription credits | 300 credits when you subscribe and at each monthly renewal | Next renewal date (unused credits expire, no rollover) |
| Top-up credits | When you top up while subscribed | 90 days from the top-up |
| Promotion credits | Sign-up bonus (20 credits), events | Set expiry date (7 days for the sign-up bonus) |

* Unused subscription credits expire at renewal, even if you have 10 left, and new credits are issued.
* Promotion credits expire after their validity period, whether or not you're subscribed.

## How Credits Are Deducted

| Situation | Credits used |
| - | - |
| Creating 1 image | 1 credit |
| First Edit | Free |
| Each Edit after that | 1 credit |
| Generation fails | None (restored automatically) |

* Credits are used in this order: **promotion credits → subscription credits → top-up credits**.
* Top-up credits that expire sooner are used first.

## Credit Top-Ups

* Only Starter plan subscribers can top up. (Not available on the legacy Taste plan)
* Top-up credits are valid for 90 days from the top-up and are not refundable.
* We'll email you 7 days and 1 day before they expire.
